A brief update from Rachel on how things are going:
Danielle was able to move to a room at the Bob Kemp Hospice on Wednesday afternoon. We are very thankful for the compassionate care, welcoming environment and the peaceful setting here. It is a difficult place to be but they have made it as comfortable as possible, with cozy rooms, home cooked meals, and thoughtful access to the lush outdoor surroundings.
Danielle continues to struggle with pain and fatigue, and finding a suitable balance of pain control with alertness. There are many people who would like to see her and also people she would like to see. It is hard for her to balance this with the very important task of preparing for her future and spending precious time with Timothy, Martha and Ava.
We have set up a schedule to make important visits manageable for Danielle. It is necessary to limit visiting to those who are especially close to her, and also to limit the length of visits to 15 minutes. Out of love and respect for Danielle, we ask that you do not come unscheduled, as Danielle may be busy doing some legacy work for her girls, sleeping, or spending special time with Timothy and the girls.
If you would like to inquire about visiting, please get in contact with Rachel (if you need contact information, please ask a close family member or friend that would know to pass it along).
We continue to appreciate all the overwhelming support and love that pours in. Please continue to pray for Danielle and her family, especially for peace and relief from pain.

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
 whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

  1. The following is from a poster hanging in the waiting room in the x-ray department at the Juravinski Hospital. May it be of some comfort to all of you at this difficult time.

While cancer can do many devastating things, the poster reminds us of what it cannot do.

    It cannot cripple love,
    It cannot shatter hope,
    It cannot corrode faith,
    It cannot destroy peace,
    It cannot kill friendship,
    It cannot suppress memories,
    It cannot silence courage,
    It cannot invade the soul,
    It cannot steal eternal life
    It cannot conquer the spirit.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers, in many moments of very day.
