June 5 Monday - Into Surgery

After a long morning of difficult preparations,  and waiting into the afternoon, Danielle was wheeled into the OR at about 3:30 this afternoon.  The surgery is scheduled to be 3.5 hours long,  but could be longer than that if complications arise.  We are again so thankful for the work of the medical staff here at the hospital - nurses, doctors, surgeons, specialists, so many people working in the background working for the best possible care.

Mom and Dad were able to sit with Danielle and Timothy for a while this morning, and Lauren and I (and Helen, who we discovered in the waiting room) were able to join them shortly before Danielle was taken into surgery.  It was good to see each other, hug, cry, and be an encouragement to each other.  Even in this special time, we appreciate the leniency of staff allowing way too many of us into a small waiting area.

And now we sit and wait and pray - for the Lord to guide the hands of the surgeon to be sure and steady,

That He would provide stamina for the surgical staff for the coming long hours,

That He would protect Danielle through this procedure and allow the tumour to be removed in its entirety,

That He would hold little Ava Grace in His tender hands and protect her fragile life.

Thank you for your continued prayers.
